Yes!, you can move to bottom of the desktop as like windows OS. There is no tricky or multiple steps. Just execute below command in Terminal [to open Ctrl+Alt+T].
gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Launcher launcher-position Bottom
To revert to left again, run below command.
gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Launcher launcher-position Left
